In 1973 I walked into the Far East Kung Fu Academy and that day forever changed the course of my life. It was the height of the Chinese martial arts craze brought on primarily by Bruce Lee and a TV show titled "Kung Fu" starring David Carradine as a half-bred Shaolin priest wandering the West. That show sparked my interest in martial arts and I was fortunate to find Sifu Bill Steele teaching Hung Gar Kung-fu right in my small town. I trained with Sifu Steele for around 5 years before moving to the California Central Valley and finding Aikido. He planted the seed that started my journey down the martial arts path. I owe him an immense debt of gratitude for planting that seed. Thank you
